Fan Art

When I first launched my YouTube channel, it was simply to entertain my family and friends back in Europe while also keeping them up-to-date on my new life in North America. I had no idea it would grow into such a wide language-learning community. Even now, the main reason I create content about French or Japanese is for people I personally know who asked for this kind of resource. It also allowed me to stay in touch with acquaintances I met in Spain, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, as I keep studying to improve my Spanish. My channel’s unexpected growth began with videos of me trying to imitate various accents from all around the world.

Collaborating with Mark on the web series FRAJALICAN further boosted his channel’s popularity, with the number of followers steadily increasing. I’m extremely grateful for the supportive feedback I received, which really kept my own channel going. Yet, in addition to these comments, I was moved by the personal gestures from friends like Kayo, who drew a portrait of me. Then came talented artists like Noemi and Ingrid, who created fan art work inspired by my videos, to the extent that I connected with them through video calls, and I even ended up meeting Noemi in person during a trip to France. That’s when I truly realized the potential of social media and how it can connect people with the same interests.

Similar to the early days of computers and social networking sites such as MySpace and MSN Messenger, which brought people together in a different era. Keeping this in mind drives my ongoing commitment to creating material that resonates with my audience.

If you haven’t already, it’s not too late to subscribe to my channel and join me on this captivating language learning journey!
